Mowbarton Barn or Mowbarton Shepherd's Hut: the choice is yours
Masses of space for the whole family - plus a few friends!
Or romantic privacy and seclusion in a miniature home on wheels
Mowbarton Barn is a traditional stone-built barn conversion with plenty of space and sensational views over the Somerset Levels. Mowbarton Shepherd's Hut is our recent addition - just across the lane from the Barn but on its very own separate and secluded site. It sleeps two in a custom-made 'hut', based on a traditional design but updated to an extremely high standard with a beautifully crafted finish. Glamping at its most luxurious!
Set in a peaceful rural location surrounded by fields (one of our own now boasts an embryonic vineyard), Mowbarton is also near Wells, Glastonbury, Wookey and Cheddar, and not far from the Somerset coast. So there is plenty to see and masses to do, plus we are very close to some of the county's finest nature reserves - Westhay Moor, Sharpham Moor, Avalon Marshes, Shapwick Heath and Ham Wall.
The area is perfect for traditional family holidays with children, but also great for ramblers, cyclists, bird-watchers, nature lovers, historians, cider drinkers... the list is endless. Less than three hours from London, a couple of hours from Plymouth or Birmingham, just over three from Manchester and 18 miles from Bristol airport, Mowbarton is a wonderfully convenient meeting point for far-flung families and friends.
The Barn offers excellent living space and sleeps eight/nine in comfort, making it ideal for family reunions and get-togethers; definitely worth considering if you have a wedding nearby. Several guests have celebrated 'significant' birthdays here: we can arrange a cake, flowers, even catering if you like. And with our additional luxury accommodation tucked away on the other side of the lane, you can bring a couple of extra friends with you. Alternatively, why not just come as a pair and leave the family behind? A romantic break might be just what you need, especially if university beckons and you are about to become 'empty-nesters'.
Plus a voucher makes a wonderful gift; and there's a special offer for a week at the Barn in September/October.
